Designing is searching for solutions, both everyday and uncommon. To solve a problem, one must first observe it and understand it, and then find a solution no one else has found. That is why the domestic design faculty puts great emphasis on sensitive and careful observation of the reality, as well as brave experimentation. What is important for us is our craft, and it teaches us respect for the material and the detail.

What is Product DESIGN

At the product design faculty each project begins with research: you are going to study context, as well as real needs and possibilities. You will work with ceramics, fabric and wood, learn to mould clay, to lathe and prepare moulds for industrial production of porcelain. You are going to explore the secrets of carpentry and construction, and will work with solid wood, plywood and veneer. You will learn weaving techniques, fibres and weaves as well as the principles of natural dyeing of fabrics and designing patterns. What is more, you will learn about new technologies, programming and operating robots, 3D printers and parametric machines, as well as drawing, modelling, photography, and preparing documentation and presentations. Some of the projects are organised in cooperation with external companies and will provide you with background knowledge on working in real conditions.

The major advantage of productc design is a titled team of specialists with Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka, Paul Grobelny, Jaroslaw Hulboj, Zuzanna Skalska and Anna Królikiewicz, as well as numerous workshops in professional studios: ceramics, tailoring, computer and photography.
