The project is a reference to the history of black women employed as domestic workers in South Africa from where the designer comes. Throughout most of their lives, the women wear uniform clothing (designed for work) which results in depersonalisation. The clothes proposed by the designer are two-sided: uniform on one, and individual on the other. She made the prints inspired by the collection of the Origins Museum in Johannesburg in batik, in pattern and block printing techniques, and from hand dyed fabrics.
