Kamila Figarska, faculty: DOMESTIC DESIGN
Tutor: Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka (Domestic Design), Dawid Wiener (Psychology)Materials: natural fabrics (wool, cotton, flax, silk), cardboard, silk-screen print
Dimensions: 2 cm × ca. 110–120 cm
The goal of the project is to make a child familiar with material, and to teach it by letting it catch and look. A blanket that combines four natural materials: wool, cotton, flax, and silk, accompanies a child in sleep, playtime, and rest. The moving strips of fabric encourage the child to catch, which helps it to learn the haptic differences between materials. The blanket comes with visual cards and a book based on its patterns. In a language understandable to a child, they talk about the origins of the materials.
