Where technology meets craftsmanship

Forget the notebook and pen for a moment. Cut your nails short and tie your hair back. Once you figure out what, how, and for whom you want to design, you will roll up your sleeves and do it yourself. In the ceramics studio, you will get covered in dust. In the woodworking workshop, you will be pulling out wood chips from under your collar. And we can guarantee that our KUKA robot won't listen to you the first time you try to command it.

You will learn to design functional everyday objects

How do people sleep, eat, and rest? Why do we surround ourselves with specific objects? Product design at School of Form is not just about how things look. It combines a deep knowledge of materials, tools, and lifecycles with an understanding of human behavior, environmental impact, and cultural context. It is problem-solving geared toward individuals, communities, and the future.

Functional design

Ceramics, furniture, and textiles

You will complete individual and team projects in ceramics, furniture making, textiles, and interaction design. Through these assignments, you will develop full-scale prototypes, technical documentation, and comprehensive project descriptions.

Parametric design

Parametrics and robotics

You will learn to use digital tools to create algorithms leading to design solutions. You will create technical drawings and learn how to professionally document your design process through photography and video.
